ultegra or xt? Cross country touring?
Am used to the xcellant shifting on my dura ace allez and xtr epic. Tricross came with not so great bb/crank. I use the tricross for pulling a bob ibex trailer cross country. Any ideas if the xt, with better climbing ability gearing or stick with road gruppo of ultegra upgrade would work or work better?
i know the difference. I am asking if xt will work better for pulling the trailer, do to gearing than ultegra? or if ultegra will come in same gear range (AMOUNT OF TEETH)
ok, try this, for pulling a trailer on a tricross bike, which currently uses a low quality triple ring upfront. That I want to replace. Would the
'do all' xt- bb/ crank work better than the road ultegra.
Dont think they make a dura ace triple and do not need xtr for this. There fore, xt- or ultegra?

Actually, there's very little difference between Ultegra and Dura Ace contrary to popular belief, and yes, they do make a Dura Ace Triple group. However, if it were me, I'd go with the XT. I upgraded an all aluminum Felt F80 that I have from Tiagra/105 to full Ultegra because that's my bike for pulling my son's trailer. It works well except for the usual road bike triple setup hiccups. XT was specifically designed to be extremely Durable. It's one of the best groups for MTBs. How can you go wrong?
