Question About New Tires for a Raleigh Capri Bicycle.?
I found this old bike in nice shape in my dad's garage. The only thing it needs is new tires. I would like to bring this bike with me to college so it has to be able to ride nicely on some crappy streets. The tires are 27" x 1-1/8". I'm wondering, is this narrow of a tire OK for the city? Does anybody know where I can find some with more tread?

The tires on it are cracked and very bald. The innertubes are fine but I will probably replace them as well.
It will be fine, the tires are larger then regular road bike tires. I just finished up a ride on the local back roads that are pretty rough and most of it was gravel. I was using my hybrid with 700 x 32c tires that are 1 1/4 inches. Just stay away from potholes and don't jump curbs.
