What to consider when buying a bike
If you're thinking about buying a bike, here are some things to consider to ensure you get a machine that best suits your needs and budget.
You can spend anything from £ 75 to £ 6,000 on the purchase of a bicycle you can imagine that there is a big difference in the specification and characteristics. But even if the expenditure under £ 100 is still a waste if you buy bad machine. If you feel comfortable with it, if not exciting, or you get bored on a bicycle-based, you will not use it! Your bike becomes an accumulating bulky clothing hook dust in the corner.
And if you want to sell on eBay do not be surprised if you receive only a fraction of what you paid for it because it will be against many other who bought the wrong bike and never used it.
Next, decide your primary purpose for buying a bike and see if it is the right machine for the current form is
Types of Exercise Bike
You have a choice between three types of bikes: -
1. upright bike - bicycle standard conventional bicycle position, takes up little space and offers a good cardiovascular workout.
2. recumbents - sit in a horizontal position, more comfortable, better than standing by overweight or unfit those recovering of illness or injury. Occupies more space than vertical.
3. Spinning bike - to accelerate fat burning workouts of greater intensity and interval training, is also used for outdoor training cyclists season.
The upright bike requires the least amount of space and is generally less expensive because it is less complex machinery involved. Many consider the recumbent bike to be more comfortable as you can sit back and horizontal position may be suitable for those recovering from injury or overweight. A recumbent bike is a very easy to do some light exercise at lower levels of resistance, it is also easy on the back.
The latest spinning bikes (or brokers) are designed for high intensity work-outs and tend to cost more, though there are now more affordable spinners coming on the market. These machines can be large to increase fitness while burning fat.
Types of resistance (drag)
To provide a varied and demanding training, a bicycle must have the ability to change the resistance on the pedals. This can simulate going up hills or coasting in 5th gear. There are three main ways to do this.
1. Air - a fan generates an air flow as you pedal faster than it increases the resistance. The only disadvantage of this system is that you can only alter by changing speed, so if it does decrease the level of resistance.
2. Mechanical - friction generally increases with a band around the wheel that can offer high strength and hard training. However, this must be changed by manually turning a dial and the system can suffer wear with regular use.
3. Magnetic - the versatile braking system operated by pressing a button that alters the position of the magnets to increase resistance. The main advantages are ease of use in addition to pre-set programs can control the level and used by the programs of frequency control to keep in the zone of burning fat.
Pre-set programs
Most exercise bikes now come with programs preset. They can lead through different types of sessions and can vary the resistance set intervals to simulate the climbing and interval training. More recently, heart rate have become popular as an effective way to increase fitness and burn fat. " Working through variation in the level of resistance according to heart rate (measured by the polar chip or handshakes). If your rate below a certain level (based on age, weight and sex), the resistance increases, if it gets too high, is reduced.
Motivation is key to its success and a good selection including pre-series on a bicycle helps to vary your workouts and keep you coming back. So, as a rule, the more programs the better. Do not forget to check the dimensions of the bike to see if it fits through doors and in the space reserved for him.
Conclusion:
If you do a little research and have a clear purpose for using an exercise bike, then have the right machine for achieving your goals.
