what road bike should I buy for biathlon training ?
Hi,
I am planning to get a nice road bike for biathlon training.
My budget is under $1000. I live in San Francisco.
Could somebody tell me what bikes should I look at ? Any stores around San Francisco would also be good.
I tried a 2010 Cannondale CAAD8 6 Triple and liked it.

First off, not to nitpick, but they're called duathlons, not biathlons. The latter is cross country skiing mixed with rifle shooting.
For triathlon specific bikes, you may be able to find an aluminum bodied time trial bike for under a grand. Ok I lied, those are more like 1500-1700. But that doesn't mean you can't find one on craigslist for under that much from a triathlete who got bored with cycling or pay a little more than you originally wanted.
If your budget is indeed under a grand and you can't find a tri specific bike, do not fret, you can just find any other road bicycle and buy some clip on aero bars from profile design for under $100. If you're just starting out, then you probably won't notice the difference, and a regular road bike will be more versatile for just riding around town anyway.
Under a grand most road bikes are pretty much the same, so if you liked the Cannondale and it fits, then buy it, you're not making a bad choice. Cannondale is actually one of the innovators in aluminum bicycles anyway, so of all aluminum frames it may be a better choice anyway.
