What is the political message behind this disturbing imagery?

In the movie "2012" which i watched the other day, an Obama-like US president is crushed to death by an Aircraft Carrier that is carried into Washing by a Tsunami. The ship is rolling and pitching atop the wave and it rolls to port just before squishing the pres. and "John F. Kennedy" can be seen painted on the flight deck. In reality only a hull number is painted on carriers' flight decks but its hollywood, so...Why JFK? What does it imply? Why not USS Ronald Reagan or USS George H. W. Bush (under construction at Newport News) Squashing a black democratic pres.?
It was a very disturbing seen.

Symbolism, to reflect that JFK would crush the current President in a Tsunami of political prowness.
