How can I teach my child to learn to ride bicycle?Should I leave the training wheels on for sometimes?
my daughter,a bit quiet and shy,I want to teach her to ride bike,Shoul di leave the training wheels on so she is not frightened.If so when would be a good time to take them off? Please help!!
You'll need to judge how competent she is on the bike before you can make a call on whether to remove them. having been through the same thing with 2 daughters, I found the best way was to start with the training wheels flat on the ground, so the bike stood up by itself without any 'lean'. Once they'd been doing that for awhile, I'd adjust the training wheels a little higher, so that it allowed a small amount of 'lean'...enough so that if they over balanced, it would still 'catch' them....as she improves, keep on adjusting, until the day you take them off all together....I 'd recommend the 1st solo 'flight' on a grassed surface...she'll get the hang of it in no time at all
