What are these called?
Hi Guys.
I'm looking for the name of the part that is covering the spokes on this bike wheel....

I realise this particular one is called a disk wheel, but what's it called on it's own, like just the part that's covering the spokes without the wheel included...
Hope I'm making sense here.....sorry for being so thick...

Reading the question properly would go down well you know,
Sorry if i end up misleading you, but i believe that this is actually a solid disc, and that the two disk skins, the axel and the rim are all one place and that the cassette bolts onto this.
That makes the wheel aerodynamic and stiff without the weight penalty of the spokes and nipples. They are used for short (10km) time trials and track racing.
When i was a nipper you could buy these plastic wheel coverings that made your bike look like it had expensive carbon disc wheels, but i haven't seen then in many a moon.
best bet would be to go and ask your local bike shop if they have any left from the 80s somewhere.
If you want my father has a decent set of 700cc carbon disk wheels on campagnol hardware for just shy of 1000 pounds but i suspect this isnt what you are after.
