Do most new mattresses heat up fast and make the person sleeping on them feel hot?
Just got new high-quality mattress and box spring, NOT memory foam, to use in place of hot memory foam mattress. Bad news: new one is hot too, even with a coolmax mattress pad on it. Not as hot as the memory foam one, but too hot still. I wake up freezing on one side from the AC turned up to counteract the heat, sweating on whichever side is turned to the mattress. Are others having this experience? I don't have any health problems that would cause such a reaction and am not hot-natured. But I'm not a good sleeper under the best of conditions, and this is beginning to confound me. I can't remember this kind of problem with a mattress prior to last year, so I'm wondering if it's some kind of new material used in manufacturing them. Any ideas/input out there?
Hello - I just wanted to mention that I have read that any non-natural materials (such as foam, memory foam etc.) can make a person "sweat" in bed as it "doesn't breath."
I am shopping for a new mattress and it's unbelievable the stuff they are using now to make them.
What I wondered if you could do is buy a COTTON mattress cover for your bed - a good quality thick one - which would allow your skin to breathe and cool off.
I have a new duvet and boy I wake up sweating with that thing too - I am going to replace it with something else - I wake up feeling like I am roasting - and the air is cool.
