My STI shimano tiagra 9 speeds in road bike stoped working, help please...?
ok this is the problem, my right hand tiagra STI is stuck when shifting, it can't pull the cable anymore, i have a small check and find out that when shifting up to a higher cog, the pulley inside it stuck and felt back to normal position, the blade grip in one position, everything is wrong, with the rear mech stuck on the smallest cog, it is very hard to pedal up hill. I think the reason is when I put link to the chain when the derailleur and the chain itself are still on the largest cog position, it jump down immediately, this shifter is driving me crazy lately. without been able to change to larger cog, I would be dead in up hill.
thank for any suggestion - beside go to a bike shop and buy a new one.
This could be one or more of several things wrong.
1) The lever could have jammed.
2) The cable could be either rusty, or have a kink in it.
3) The derailleur could be jammed.
4) The adjustment may be loose, and has slipped.
If you can't check these things yourself, then I'm sure that a local cycle shop would look at it, tell you what is wrong, and if you can't fix it, how much it would cost for them to fix it.
