would it be better to upgrade the bike i have now?
the bike i have now is a 2005 trek 3900 i would be be putting the cheapest fox talas fork on it and would be getting hydralic disk brakes and putting a 9 speed cassete on it and maybe upgrading the deraliers,also i would get new handlebars,stem,seatpost,seat,and tires. the price would be about the same as the $1400 2007 cannondale rush 5 that i would get instead.
which do you think would be better and last longer
How much does the 3900 cost? probably around $400 or less. So, you'll willing to spend 3x as much on upgrades? The Talas is too large for the frame, so I would pass on it. Also, beside the casette you will need a new chain, rear deraileur and shifters.
