Cycling against the wind and hearing?
My route I do my workout ride on almost invariably is always against the wind. Is there anything I can do to block out the wind in my ears (besides earplugs) so that I can hear vehicles coming from behind? Any veteran cyclist tip/tricks are welcome. I'm not crazy about wearing a mirror on my helmet either.
What I do is tilt my head sideways, left or right depends on where I think I hear the car is coming from. You may also tilt a little down but just experiment around a little to get the best results.
A beanie cap or the balaclava mask helps too, it holds down the hair above the ears down, and presses the earlobes flat.
