Improving a Used Flexo Press with the Servo 3000 System
The Servo 3000 Digital Infeed + Re-register system made by Rotary Technologies can make a used Flexo press work like new. For a fraction of what a printer will pay for a new Flexographic press he can add the bolt on, portable, plug and play Servo 3000. This is a digital product that reliably results in less material waste throughout a print job. It allows a used Flexo press to print double and triple its color capacity. Because the Servo 3000 Digital Infeed + Re-register system precisely re-registers the web it can allow a press to take work from another press to add colors, fix mistakes, print muli-layer labels and much more. This 100% digital and servo driven product can make a used press perform like new. Users typically notice better color registration on first pass printing.
Using the Servo 3000 bypasses the infeed gear train as well as the existing infeed/pacing cylinder. Bypassing used and worn mechanical gears and gear boxes with the Servo 3000 eliminates backlash and gives the press much more precise tracking.
When a printer has preprinted rolls printed by other resources he can use a press fitted with the Servo 3000 to precisely re-register the web to print additional colors or whatever the job might be. A Servo 3000 upgraded press can be used to finish jobs from a digital press. Because the Servo 3000 can precisely re-register the web from the digital print job the press can die cut, strip, and laminate and at speeds substantially faster than the digital press. Using the Servo 3000 for this job gives the shop more flexibility. Unlike with the use of stand-alone modular machine for this job the used press, made new with the Servo 3000, can be used for other work when not doing finishing for the digital press.
Rather than invest in a new Flexo press in the price range of $500,000 to $1,000,000 a printer may want to consider adding a Servo 3000 system to a used press. The result will be a more flexible press that in many ways works like new, and for less. The Rotary Technologies Servo 3000 is an excellent, single, cost efficient upgrade for a used Flexo printer.
