Rubber Patch Tire Kit
On the way to a very important family event, I found myself in a situation where I had to pull over to the side of the road. Turned out my tire was losing air quickly and a rubber patch would be in order. Now I normally didn't think of such things, I mean a rubber patch to fix a tire was so far from what I would even fathom, but a friend of mine had let me on to that little known trick, told to him by his friend mechanic. Why not, you can use clothing labels like PVC labels, or custom labels, or emblems, to cover unsightly clothing flaws, why not use a rubber patch for a hole in a tire?
Normally the first thing I would do if I found I had a hole in my tire is go to the mechanic and get a new tire; spending that sixty dollars or so would be quick and easy and no hassle, so it really didn't faze me. I liken it to when I rip a hole in my clothing and I buy another outfit to compensate for the one I ruined, instead of buying clothing labels, or custom labels, or emblems to sew on to the fabric where it was accidentally ripped. I know that sounds snobbish in a way, but who has the time to sew anymore? However, once I was told that I could save my sixty bucks for the whole tire by just purchasing the rubber patch kit for approximately five dollars, I decided that maybe spending that extra fifty-five dollars I saved, on maybe a new outfit or shoes wasn't such a bad trade off.
So now that I am in need of a tire mending once again, I know to turn to my rubber patch kit for emergency repair. As I search through my glove compartment for the trusty tube, I pat myself on the back for all of the money that I am saving, and hope that I didn't leave the tube home, when suddenly I find it. Patching the tire made me appreciate the work that goes into patching clothing. I suddenly appreciated the art of sewing clothing labels, and custom labels, or emblems onto different pieces of apparel and found myself thinking about a shirt that can use a little mending and maybe a PVC label or two to add a little pizzazz to the design; all of this because my tire began to lose air.
Taking into consideration all of the years that I knew nothing about rubber patch therapy for tires, and ignored the idea of clothing labels and emblems, for my clothing in need of sewing repairs, I realize how much money I have wasted, and I plan on making up for those years by turning over a new leaf. Now, not only do I use rubber patches for holes in my tires, but I use custom labels, as well as clothing labels, and emblems to patch up holes in my attire as well.
