I recently got a cycle computer , does it matter where i put the sensor or magnet?
i got a cateye velo 8 , and it does ask my wheel size , but does it still matter where abouts on the bike i put my sensor or magnet.

I get that the sensor has to be close to the magnet , and it asked me my wheel size (26") , so then that defintelty means that it doesn't mean how close the magnet is to the centre of the wheel . Thanks again
the sensor and the magnet must be lined up together there is usually a line up mark and you use as a guide spin wheel and check if reading and adjust normal best spot is lower down on front fork. but there is something else in your question it asks wheel size 26" if you accept that. It will not be correct reading you need the circumference of your wheel with your tyre fitted as the tyres different sizes must measure yours exactly put a mark on the side of your tire and lay a tape measure out on flat concrete start off at start of tape with mark on tyre and walk the bike along straight until line is on bottom again take a note reading repeat 3 times discard abnormal reading and input average of rest that will have to be done every time you put different different tyres on if you want correct distance speed etc .
