is a good idea to get a carbon stem?
I'm looking to upgrade basically half of my bike before the racing season and a new stem is part of that package. i was in the liking of the Bontrager Race XXX Lite OS carbon stem to replace my Bontrager Select. Is it worth the carbon go? my mechanic shop said he would prefer to have a strong trunk to a light one. How likely are these things break? im using just for XC racing, trail riding, and the road. if no carbon, then what is a good alternative? I do not want to spend more than $ 50 and something is needed to adapt to a Monkeylite Easton carbon riser. I do not know I am exactly what model to get, but the bars are thick.
Carbon is due in most part, have gone through the learning curve and are as safe and strong as others.
